 
			Mei Yuan
Mei earned her Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University, where she double majored in biochemistry and biology and minored in both forensic science and music. Following graduation, she spent three years in the food science industry, gaining valuable experience in applied laboratory techniques and quality assurance. Currently, Mei is pursuing a Master of Science in Forensic Science at the University of New Haven. Her academic and research interests center on trace evidence analysis, particularly in the context of drug detection. She is currently working under the mentorship of Dr. Kammrath on a project aimed at evaluating and enhancing the capabilities of an ion trap mass spectrometer for the identification of fentanyl, its analogs, and other synthetic opioids. Mei’s long-term career goal is to become a lead investigator at a federal or state agency, where she hopes to apply her scientific training to support criminal investigations and contribute to public safety.
