Tom Grimaldi is a 33-year law enforcement veteran who has held every rank including Chief of Police in Bristol, CT and Port Orange, FL. He has a master’s degree in management from the University of St. Joseph, completed the Chief Executive Officers course at the Southern Police Institute and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Chief Grimaldi (ret.) has previously taught Criminal Justice classes at Goodwin University in East Hartford, CT, Daytona State College in Daytona Beach, FL and worked for 1-year at the Connecticut Police Academy as a program consultant developing curriculum.

He has served on the Criminal Justice Advisory Boards for Keiser University and Atlantic High School’s Law & Government Academy in Port Orange, FL to help develop pertinent curriculum in criminal justice. Chief Grimaldi has served as the treasurer, vice-president, and president of the Volusia County FL Police Chief’s Association, as well as president of the police athletic league.

In addition to his responsibilities as the Director of Training at the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, he is an assessor for CALEA and is a member of the Police Executive Research Foundation (PERF) and the FBI National Academy Associates. During his career he has been recognized by Sen. Richard Blumenthal with the First 100 Award for his collaboration with the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the Special Initiative Award from the United Way of West Central Connecticut, the meritorious service award, lifesaving award, and exceptional service award from the City of Bristol, CT.
