The Clandestine Graves and Human Remains course will be held at the University of New Haven, sponsored by the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science. The course will cover the topography of land, soils, botany and vegetation species, locating clandestine graves in remote locations, use of cadaver dogs, search techniques, use of ground penetrating RADAR, marking gravesites, proper excavation of the grave and recovery of human remains and evidence.
This course is open to the general public, law enforcement, teachers, forensic science practitioners and others with an archaeological interest. Instructors are current and emeritus faculty of the University of New Haven, Yale University, UCONN, and other instructors from the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science. POSTC credit will be sought for Connecticut police officers. Continuing education letters will be provided for teachers.
