Dr. Henry C. Lee
Dr. Henry C. Lee is considered by many to be one of the most famous forensic scientists in the world. Dr. Lee has worked with law enforcement agencies helping to solve more than 8,000 cases over the last 50 years. In recent years, his travels have taken him to England, Germany, Bosnia, Croatia, China, Brunei, India, Singapore and other locations around the world.
Dr. Lee first worked for the Taipei Police Department, attaining the rank of Captain. Dr. Lee came to the United States in 1964 with his wife, Margaret, and he earned his B.S. in 1972. Dr. Lee continued his studies in Biochemistry at NYU where he earned his Master’s Degree in 1974 and Ph.D. in 1975.
Dr. Lee previously served as the Commissioner of Public Safety for the State of Connecticut and also served as the state’s Chief Criminalist. Dr. Lee was the driving force in establishing a modern State Forensic Science Laboratory in Connecticut.
In 1975, Dr. Lee joined the University of New Haven, wherehe created our BS in Forensic Science program. Dr. Lee has authored hundreds of articles in professional journals and has co-authored more than 25 textbooks, covering areas such as DNA Analysis, Fingerprints, Trace Evidence, Forensic Anthropology, Crime Scene Investigation and Crime Scene Reconstruction.
In his much-deserved retirement, Dr. Lee still actively engages in trainings and guest lectures around the world with his wife Xiaping (“Angel”), an accomplished author, whom he married in 2018.
