Motor vehicles are often parts of crime scenes and criminal investigations. This course will cover the forensic processing and documentation techniques that can be used with different types of motor vehicles. Processing for evidence that may contain biological fluids presents additional challenges for investigators as does processing an entire car for latent fingerprints. Hidden compartments may complicate an investigation as weapons and contraband can be hidden and remain undiscovered. Proper inventorying of evidence from motor vehicles is a must. This course will allow the student to learn from lectures and also to process a motor vehicle for evidence.
POSTC credit will be sought for CT police officers.
